dana, sure the clinton campaign has two or so days to right this message but at the same time, the big unknown is how much damage has already been done. i really don t think you can put the toothpaste back in the tube at this point. they are going to try as much as possible. no question about it on the clinton front. but look, the reason why this was such a bombshell for obviously a bad one for the clinton campaign and good one for the trumt p campaign is that it fed into a narrative that the trump campaign was already pushing and one that every poll showed was the biggest soft spot for hillary clinton, honest and trust worthiness and questions of whether or not the big picture, whether or not you want somebody who is has been in washington and a part of the system for decades and decades. so given that i heard jake telling you
little bit of irony to this. i found rand paul tonight obviously his campaign really got shaken up when basically a family member gets indicted in a scheme back in 2012. it s one of his in-laws part of his political circle. i think rand paul made a decision tonight. he s leaving nothing to chance. he jumped in on that. he wanted to have that moment. he jumped in and had a chris christie moment. i feel like you re seeing rand paul, maybe acting a little desperate, but he wants to do whatever is possible to show his campaign has life. on the clinton front, i expected to hear trump use that as an opportunity to go after hedging bets. what about the people giving money to jeb bush and hillary clinton? before we take a break, i want to point out rand paul is at 4.8% in the polls. he was the third lowest ranking
we ll have a report. clinton s attorneys, however say they are asking for a public hearing as soon as possible and clinton s campaign strongly criticized news the report would be delayed saying in part quote, that the committee s admission today that it will not finish its investigation until 2016 is the most telling news that they re playing politics. sadly republicans are determined to continue to exploit that tragedy in an effort to try to hurt her campaign. also on the clinton front. josh green has a big scoop regarding clinton s cash coming up on morning joe. you don t want to miss that. a government report obtained by the washington post reveals that the secret service took more than a year to replace a broken alarm system at the house of former president bush. they received a warning that the
happens with bernie sanders campaign, but right now is certainly not that time. and also on the clinton front, within the last hour, a brand-new batch of the state department e-mails coming out, including one that was brought up, i guess in the recent 11-hour testimony clinton had before that committee. what are we learning so far with these new e-mails? the e-mails are diverse. there are 328 that were upgraded, portions of which were upgraded to the lowest level of classification, confidential. and the redactions don t tell us as much as we d want to know about some of those. but there are 7800 pages, this is the largest dump so far, of e-mails. this brings to 66% of the total that are to be released. so you can expect there s going to be a big bunch released at the end of next month, which would probably mean, this is what we re going to be doing on new year s eve. so that s not a great prospect. but they have to get this done
