BPD: Man charged with assault on officer

BLANCHESTER A local man was charged with assault on a peace officer after a recent incident.
On Tuesday morning, Feb. 9, Teresa Bowman of Orchard Circle called the police station and left a voicemail message saying she needed “help” at her residence.
“Luckily, an officer listened to that message within minutes of it being received,” stated Police Chief Scott Reinbolt in a news release. He added, “As always, residents needing police assistance should call the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center, not the police station. The Blanchester police station has not been staffed since 1994.”
Blan PD; Man charged with robbery
BLANCHESTER A man has been indicted on a robbery charge after a September incident.
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, a 26-year-old Lebanon man phoned the Blanchester police station to report that he was robbed earlier in the night inside a residence in the 300 block of S. Wright St.
Later that day, Sgt. Gary Mowen traveled to Lebanon to interview the victim, who told Sgt. Mowen that he was at that address with a friend when Maxwell Sill robbed him of a cell phone and attempted to extort money from him, according to a news release from Blanchester Police Chief Scott Reinbolt. the victim said he was able to get away by claiming that he had alerted police by electronic means, causing his assailant and others to flee the house.

WILMINGTON As part of the “Clean Up Clinton County” initiative, officials anticipate seven new demolition projects in Clinton County by the end of March.
Those seven properties are located in Wilmington, Union Township, the villages of Midland and Port William, and Wayne Township.
Loaded gun found in Blan school locker
Police say this gun was in a Blanchester student’s locker.

BLANCHESTER An investigation over a student bringing a loaded handgun to the Blanchester Intermediate School continues.
Blanchester Police Chief Scott Reinbolt stated in a news release that a 10-year-old student has already faced disciplinary action from the school for bringing the gun to school, and that student could also face charges.
“The case will be forwarded to Clinton County Prosecuting Attorney Andrew McCoy for determination of appropriate charges,” said Reinbolt.
Superintendent Dean Lynch told AIM Media Midwest the school principal, Jen Molitor, is continuing her investigation. Reinbolt stated the student had been picked up by a parent.
