Clint Powell interviewed Jason Smith, a veteran who works for a non-profit that helps other veterans.
Mr. Smith joined the Army as an infantryman in 2009 and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. Four months into his deployment he stepped on an IED that resulted in the loss of both his legs and severe damage to his right hand.
After learning to walk again and gaining the use of his hand in rehab, he retired in 2014 and moved to Chattanooga.
He is married with two children and now works for Catch A Lift Fund, helping veterans get into shape through activity, nutrition, and emotional wellness.
