CIRCLEVILLE â January is National Blood Donor Month, the perfect time to resolve to be a regular blood donor and help save lives.
Donors of all blood types are urged to give now to help the Red Cross maintain the blood supply. Medical conditions and emergencies donât stop for a pandemic, seasonal illnesses or winter weather.
The Red Cross is testing blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies. As part of this effort, plasma from standard blood donations that test positive for COVID-19 antibodies may now help current coronavirus patients in need of convalescent plasma transfusions. There arenât enough people donating blood to help patients in need. You can help by encouraging others to sign up to donate blood.
