ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Tuesday said first one billion target of plantation under Ten Billion Tree Tsunami (TBTT) would be achieved in June this year.
The spring season plantation this year would focus on urban plantation aimed at increasing the dwindling green cover of urban centers to reduce risk of flooding, heat wave, pollution and other climate change induced calamities, said the SAPM addressing a media briefing here.
He said the TBTT was guarantee to the country’s resilience and preparedness against adverse impacts of environmental degradation and opposition parties should avoid criticizing it. He said the country’s biggest weapon against climate change was TBTT, while we had set a 3.2 billion tree plantation target till 2023 under the scheme.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Tuesday said Prime Minister’s 10 Billion Tree Honey project would generate millions of green jobs and boost untapped potential of honey exports of the country.
Addressing the inaugural session of a one-day national workshop and the Launching of the National Apiculture Programme or Apiculture Scaling up Programme for Income and Rural Employment (ASPIRE), which was the country’s first largest honey beekeeping promotion programme, he said proper branding, sampling and international standard packaging of the honey produced under the 10 Billion Honey (TBH) would be ensured to attract precious foreign exchange.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Tuesday has said that the electric vehicle policy would soon be launched following its approval from the federal cabinet. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said the policy was aimed at making environment clean, green and pollution free. He said that the government was taking steps to enhance reliance on renewable energy as the country was facing looming threat of the climate changes. The special assistant maintained that masses were well aware of the facts related to country’s progress. He lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to ensure safe future for coming generations and make the country free from climatic challenges.
