Garrick Higgo s coach Cliff Barnard says that the 22-year-old will be looking to make the cut at this week s US Open.
Higgo will be making his US Open debut at Torrey Pines and comes off a PGA Tour victory last week.
Barnard hopes to keep Higgo s mental fatigue in check as he continues his busy schedule.

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (AP) â Justin Thomas doesn’t have many regular games lined up during his rare appearances on the European Tour, so he was more than happy to play a nine-hole practice round this year in Abu Dhabi with a 21-year-old from South Africa.
It didn’t take long for him to pay close attention to a powerful lefty named Garrick Higgo.
âHe had some serious, serious speed,â Thomas said Tuesday at the PGA Championship. âThere’s a lot of holes out there that didn’t ask for that kind of speed, more of just finesse and hitting to the dogleg. But we got a couple of par 5s that he could let loose, and it was definitely a different sound than my ball made.â
Vorster wins SA Stroke Play in wire-to-wire style
RANDBURG, 4 February 2021 – Martin Vorster slept on the lead for three straight nights and on Thursday, South Africa’s top ranked amateur finished the job and won the South African Stroke Play Championship by four shots.
Vorster once again showed he is man for big moments when he secured the national title on 23 under at Randpark Golf Club.
The Mossel Bay golfer opened the tournament with a flawless eight-under-par 64. Following rounds of 65 and 66, he started the final round on the Firethorn Course seven strokes clear of fellow GolfRSA National Squad member Kieron van Wyk and nine ahead of Christiaan Maas and defending champion Casey Jarvis.
