A diner planned for the Franklin Woods development along East Franklin Boulevard won’t be opening after all.
Metro Diner no longer plans to open a location within the gaggle of other Franklin Woods restaurants that began serving Gastonia area residents over the last year.
Restaurant officials believe it’s the best course of action as the pandemic prolongs.
“Everything was humming along and obviously the world flipped upside down,” said Cliff Arthur, joint venture operating partner of Metro Diner.
“We’ve actually shelved all new development until we get on the other side of this thing. There’s just too much uncertainty right now in the restaurant business.”
