ARB removes 880 architects from register over unpaid fees
The Architects’ Registration Board (ARB) has taken 880 architects off its register for failing to pay their annual retention fees on time – the lowest number to be taken of its books for almost a decade
The ARB has revealed that it has removed 2 per cent of the UK’s 42,340 architects for failing to pay the yearly fee before the 31 December deadline.

This is the smallest number to be trimmed from the register in recent years – a 34 per cent drop on the 1.332 kicked off the list for non-payment in 2020.
The highest-ever figure came in 2014, when 2,043 lost the right to call themselves an architect by not coughing up in time.
