Easley is getting a new $17 million YMCA building.
The new 57,000-square-foot building is expected to break ground soon and open in fall 2022. It ll be two-and-half times the size of the current building and become the crown jewel of YMCA of Easley, Pickens and Powdersville.
The new building will have a splash pad, lap pool and another pool, cardio and strength centers, dedicated group exercise and spin rooms, and a training room with indoor and outdoor workout spaces.
The existing 22,000-square-foot building will not be demolished after the new one is built. It will be renovated and turned into a senior center with a childcare program.
