CLEMSON, S.C. The Clemson men's track and field team earned its second consecutive top-25 ranking in the latest USTFCCCA Rating Index. The Tigers are No. 23 in the nation, the fourth-highest of any ACC men's team. Clemson's men stand out particularly in the sprint events, boasting the 14th-ranked 100 meter dash group and the 15th-ranked 200 meter dash group. Clemson's three indoor All-America hurdlers finished in the top three in the 110-meter hurdles at the Tennessee Relays this past weekend. Devon Brooks won the event, followed closely by Giano Roberts and Lafranz Campbell.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Clemson Track and Field program began its fourth outdoor meet of the season on Friday at the Tennessee Relays, and saw success in many of the individual events. At the midway point of the regular season, the Tigers are certainly showing steady progression and promise as several of the team’s biggest names are showing that they will be forces to reckon with come championship season. HIGHLIGHTS The men’s 110 meter hurdles was dominated by Clemson, as Devon Brooks won the event with a 13.57. He was closely followed by Giano Roberts and Lafranz Campbell. The three Tigers finished first, second and third in the field of 14. Trishauna Hemmings took home the 100 meter hurdles crown, completing the race in 13.24 seconds. She was trailed by Antoinette Van der Merwe, whose 13.47 was third-best in the field of 22. CLEMSON, S.C. The Clemson men's track and field team clocked in at No. 21 in this week's USTFCCCA national rankings following an impressive weekend in the Tiger Paw Invitational. The overall success of the men's team is spearheaded by the No. 2 hurdles group in the country, featuring the newly minted school-record holder in the 60 meter hurdles Devon Brooks. The Tiger Paw Invitational was a star-studded meet, and the Tigers managed to shine bright while surrounded by the best talent the nation has to offer. In the men's 800 meter, Aman Thornton became just the second Tiger in history to break 1:48.00, crossing the finish line in a blazing 1:47.29, good for the fourth-best time in the nation this season. CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s hurdles group has been ranked No. 1 in the nation by USTFCCCA. The men’s team as a whole was nationally ranked for the second straight week, this time clocking in at No. 22. Clemson and Florida State are the lone ACC teams ranked on the men’s side. The top-ranked hurdles team is headlined by Devon Brooks, whose 7.64 second 60 meter hurdles at the Hokie Invitational placed him third on Clemson’s all-time top-10 list. That mark is the third-fastest by any NCAA athlete this season. Following closely behind Brooks are Lafranz Campbell and Giano Roberts, who are both tied for the fifth spot on Clemson’s list at 7.72 seconds. With just two meets remaining before the ACC Championships to be held in Blacksburg, Va. Brooks and company will have more opportunities to improve upon their already impressive marks.
