The first sections of the Green Crescent Trail are underway, the latest step in the years-long journey to create Clemson s answer to the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
Envisioned as a 40-mile system of pathways connecting Clemson, Central and Pendleton, the Green Crescent Trail is a longtime dream from locals to connect green spaces, commercial hubs and outlying communities to each other.
A loop trail in Clemson and a greenway connector in Central will be the first two sections of the trail, which is still years from completion. Several others are on the works in Clemson, Pendleton and the university.
