MOUNT CLEMENS At least eight residents of a Mount Clemens apartment complex were taken to the hospital as the result of a single-building fire.
Around 11:30 p.m. Feb. 13, first responders were dispatched to an apartment building on the north side of North River Road, east of Gratiot Avenue.
Mount Clemens Fire Capt. Richard DeCaussin said the fire was at a three-story Sunset Manor apartment building in Mount Clemens.
When asked if a cause has been identified, DeCaussin said at press time that it remained under investigation.
“They’re having a hard time because the building is compromised and the roof caved in,” he said last week. “There’s some floors caved in, some are sagging and some are burnt through.”
