President Joe Biden Hurting Milton could be one of the worst forms in hundred 100 years. So many communities across the Gulf Coast of florida have already been through a significant hit and now are going to have something that is even more tremendous movement. Were pleading with you to get out of the Storm Surge Evacuation areas if you have not done so yet. We must be prepared for a major, major impact. Neil you are looking alive right now at 575 in florida where massive evacuations are underway to mix residents heeding the advice to get out now as Hurricane Milton Merrill down the Florida Coast with the potential 1015foot Storm Surge. Think about that. It is that dyer, is that serious and it is that catastrophic. Welcome everybody im Neil Cavuto and this is your world, and will be a nasty part of the world in a southeasterly particular in the Sunshine State and tomorrow this time will be seeing anything but. Robert ray and and whittington, florida has more. Robert . Yeah, good afterno
pinellas county, the tampa bay area as well as clearwater and st. pete, they re worried because the storm is not going to hit the florida directly that folks might become a little complacent tomorrow. but again, once that storm makes its way past, that is when we expect to not only see more of this rain, more of this wind, but then at some point all of that water is going to be pushed into the tampa bay and then once you have all of that together, you add in high tide as chad laid out, king tide, and that is a concern moving forward over the next 12 to 24 hours, is that we re going to see significant flooding when it comes to this storm surge at. this hour the forecast remodel is calling from between 2 to 4, six, maybe seven feet of storm surge. right now, abby, the concern is that provide residents who decided not to seek higher ground at least in these low-lying areas that they are in a safe place and they re worried folks are gonna go out and about tomorrow with the day it might get
in the area happening. we know of at least a couple in the peninsula, clearwater and st. petersburg. we know that st. pete fired had to rescue someone from a mobile home park. so jose, when we talk about the concerns here, we have known for some time that tampa bay was not in the direct line of idalia. we did not have concerns about strong winds here, the same way that we do further north. the concern has been the surge, the storm surge. we re talking about the bay waters going over the seawall and posing a problem not just for the streets, not just for cars to get to where they need to get to, but also for homes, low lying homes, and that s why they had those mandatory evacuation orders. now, i can t say that all of the people in zone a, which is the mandatory evacuation areas evacuated. we ve seen plenty of people that have been walking around, enjoying their lives, living in the homes that were supposed to be evacuated. but what we can say is the
bend area where there is mostly wildlife management areas and estuaries, that that appears to be the target area for landfall. landfall meaning that the eye crosses the coastline here. but it will do more damage than just making landfall somewhere in that rather unpopulated area. for tampa, for marco island, for naples, for cape coral, extending up towards clearwater and st. pete, you are looking at a storm surge here and the closer you get to that system, the storm surge is going to be much more significant. on top of that, we re looking at rainfall, some of these rainfall totals could be upwards of about 10 or 12 inches. some common amounts may be 5 to 10 inches. but not just in florida. now it looks like it will pump the moisture into the panhandle region and also into central and southern georgia. eventually making its way into
just a beautiful place when it comes to live oak, big tall pine trees. the big tall pine trees are going to be a problem. it really is a stunning area. the governor putting what we re seeing into stunning historical context saying you have to ga back to the late 1800s for another example of a hurricane entering florida the way idalia is. chad myers, stay with us. thank you very much for that report. hurricane idalia is expected to release tropical storm force winds in the tampa bay area within minutes from now. cnn s carlos suarez joins us live from tampa, florida. carlos, how is tampa preparing? well, alex, at this hour there are two mandatory evacuation orders that are in effect. one of those orders is here in hillsborough county which is home to the tampa bay area. the second evacuation order is just to the west of us in pinellas county. that is home to the clearwater and st. pete area. going into tomorrow, the concern
