COVID-19 cases are beginning to creep up again as the Province announced last week that further restrictions would be eased in Step 2 of The Path Forward.
As of Sunday, Wetaskiwin has 16 active cases, four in the County and 24 cases in Maskwacis.

Sacred Heart School is reporting two to four cases and is currently on Alberta Health Services website as an alert and Clear Vista is also reporting a case in the school.

Crime rates in Wetaskiwin are coming down.
During the Oct. 26 Wetaskiwin Committee-of-the-Whole meeting, Wetaskiwin RCMP Insp. Keith Durance told Council that in comparing January to September 2019 to the same time period this year, the total Criminal Code offences had dropped by seven percent with persons crimes down three per cent, property crime down five per cent and other Criminal Code offences down 10 per cent.
