The biden American Rescue plan. The next will be recovery. We call it reconciliation. Theres nothing in reconciliation that precludes republicans from voting for it. Good morn, everybody. Im tiffany cross, and we have a lot of news to get to this morning on Cross Connection, so strap in. President bidens 1. 9 trillion rescue plan is on a fast track to approval after the house and Senate Passed a Budge Bill Yesterday and democrats pretty much tossed the deuces to the republicans warning they maybepass them altogether. Its good news for struggling americans who cant even afford to put gas in the car or go to a job they no longer have. Meanwhile capitol hill is preparing for Donald Trumps second Impeachment Trial to kick off on tuesday. And at least as of this morning, it looks unlikely that a minimum of 17 republicans will vote with the dems to convict trump. Now, the irony doesnt even seem lost on them that as they make these bow was calls for unity, theyre increasingly unwilling to hol
of massachusetts and utah and they did a study looking at half a million kids in massachusetts comparing students three and six feet apart. there are a lot of caveats. in areas of high transmission, they want to keep the high school and junior high school at six feet apart. let s say where there is a choir or singing, you want to increase that. the most important part to mention about these guidelines it depends on a lot of things. first of all, the amount of ventilation in a classroom. if you have a poorly ventilated classroom, even six feet may not be enough, certainly not if you are not wearing masks. also, in terms of getting teachers vaccinated, there is also the issue around level of community transmission as well. we have to be careful not to stick everything at the boiler plate of three feet or six feet. we will be talking to you later, but we wanted to start out with the breaking news and we will update that through the hour. president biden and vice president
as somebody who has been eagerly awaiting her vaccine shot and having no idea when i would become eligible, i will tell you, i feel this personally. as the president made clear tonight, he s saying this doesn t necessarily mean all american adults are going to be vaccinated by the end of next month, by may 1st. but he is ordering all states and territories to open eligibility to all adults by no later than may 1st, which means you can get in line, which means you can start setting up your appointment, which means you can make your plans. any american adult who wants a shot will be free to sign up for one, and the president says his administration will do everything it can to make vaccine shots available to every single american who wants one. and that is just almost unbelievably good news. for all of the americans who want to get vaccinated, present company included, but also for what it says about the progress the administration feels it s making toward that ultimate goal of
members of congress and child tax credits. and call it a presidential booster shot. all four living presidents, except for drunk, just out with a new psa encouraging vaccinations. this vaccine means hope. i am getting vaccinates because we want this pandemic to end as soon as possible. we are all doing our part. this is our shot. our reporters are spread out for our special coverage of covid one year later. i am hallie jackson. monica alba is outside the white house. gabe gutierrez is in new york and dr. john torres. we have many reporters we want to get to for our special coverage. monica, let me start with you and what we expect to hear from president biden tonight, a day before he signs the coronavirus bill into law. reporter: the president is going to acknowledge everything that this country has been through over the last year, while also trying to talk about and hint at the hope that on the horizon, more vaccine become available, we will talk about his americ
cylinders, my friend. thank you very much. i appreciate it. thank you for joining us at home. happy to have you here. tomorrow democrats in washington will be wearing their sunday best. it is a really big landmark day for them at 9:00 a.m. they ll start the home stretch final debate to pass the american rescue plan. a big covid relief bill that is the first thing the biden administration and the democrats in congress put their shoulders to when they got sworn in just two months ago. and you know, time will tell how this legislation is viewed over the long haul. but just at face value, it is more wide reaching progressive legislation than anything past, anything passed at least the last two democratic presidents. legislatively in terms of its progressive reach, in terms of its reach to make things better for people who need the most help. it is definitely on par with the affordable care act, with obamacare. but this bill, what the senate passed this weekend, what the house
