dramatic movement in the next few days, unless they could come up with a short term agreement that would keep the government open for a few more days, but that would require all these lawmakers in d.c. you are probably looking at a situation in which in the very opening hours probably of the new congress, you ve got democrats trying to pass a cleaner budget and hoping that the republicans in the senate pick that up and putting that just in front of president trump and making him make the call to continue this sort of a shutdown. at this point right now, it is a blame game, pointing the fingers across the aisle, trying to make a deal where there is trust between both guys. lots of incentives to continue digging in their heels. david, as we watch all of this play out, it was also remarkable to watch the president yesterday with a cabtive audience as he was doing some of these calls, basically airing his grievances. i want to play that and then just get your take.
the new standard gives us two strikes rather than three strikes before you re out. it gives us continuous readiness rather than two tests a year. it gives us fitter sailors, leaner budget and safer america. who wouldn t want that? general, what do you say to that? thanks for your thoughts on. that i support the fact you can believe that, but i must tell you i disagree. we should build the best force possible. given, like the army for example is losing another 40,000 people. the 40,000 is significant. the people we have in the ranks of our military, all services, should be the best we can recruit and retain. we should be doing everything to maintain higher standards, not lower standards. i would have enjoyed this body fat thing. i always wanted to be a fat boy when in special forces.
