JACKSON, Tenn. An officer was injured after responding to a reported domestic assault on Thursday.
Thursday night, Jackson police responded to the Clean Machine Coin Laundry on Carriage House Drive after a call about a domestic assault.
Police say the suspect David Lauderdale was strangling and attacking a woman. Police say he was already in his vehicle when the first officer arrived.
Lauderdale put his vehicle in reverse, pinning the officer between his patrol car and Lauderdale’s vehicle.
Police say Lauderdale hit another vehicle when he tried to leave the area, and Lauderdale eventually ran to the Sakura Japanese Restaurant.
A domestic incident at a Jackson laundromat ended with two people sent to the hospital, including a Jackson Police officer and a confirmed gang member back in jail Thursday night, according to a statement from JPD.

JACKSON, Tenn. Jackson police have confirmed an officer was seriously injured Thursday night after responding to a domestic assault at a north Jackson business.
Police say officers responded to an assault at the Clean Machine Coin Laundry on Carriage House Drive around 7:50 p.m. Thursday. Police say the suspect, identified as David Lauderdale, is accused of strangling and throwing a woman to the ground.
Police say Lauderdale had gotten into his vehicle before the first officer arrived. Once the first officer was on scene, police say Lauderdale is accused of putting his vehicle in reverse and hitting the officer, pinning the officer between Lauderdale’s vehicle and the officer’s.
