The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has released its annual Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce, which includes its Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen lists of the non-organic produce with the most and least pesticides.
The Environmental Working Group released its annual "Dirty Dozen" and "Clean Fifteen" lists of the most and least pesticide-heavy conventional fruits and vegetables in the U.S. The EWG's annual lists are based on testing data from the USDA. Almost 70 percent of the non-organic fresh produce sold in the U.S. contains pesticide residue, the EWG said.
The yearly report comes from the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving human health and the environment, and also includes a "Clean 15" list of produce.
