what is your reaction to the conviction? well, obviously i m a little disappointed. i will take a little solace in the fact that the witness i cross examined, mike mcqueary, did not sustain the count of sodomy that the government had promised which cost joe paterno his job. we felt we were a little rushed based on the fact that discovery was given to us, thousands of pages, right before trial started. but joe amendola rose to the occasion and we presented some key evidence. that s part of the reason we got the acquittals that we did. people have been raising eyebrows at joe amendola s conduct over the last couple of days. he seems to be taking a strangely frivolous view of what is going on, cracking jokes, saying today he would have a heart attack if his client was acquitted. what was that about? well, you know, you have to understand joe has worked tirelessly, and i mean the man has worked 17-hour days, dinner being brought to him at his home. i ve seen the work he s d
ahead of next week s pivotal ruling. the ruthless taunting she faced touched the nation. now the dough is rolling in for this school bus monitor. i traveled to her hometown for how it all went down. good morning, everyone. eye randi kaye. we start with jerry sandusky and the guilty verdict. they found him guilty on 45 of 48 counts all related to instances of sexual abuse of ten young boyce. sandusky was immediately taken into custody handcuffed and taken away. joining me is one of his defense attorneys. thank you, carl, for joining us this morning. first of all, what is the latest on his condition this morning? is he indeed on suicide watch? uh, he is in what they call one on one administrative custody, which i think most would call suicide watch. it was done with the purpose in placing him in that kind of restrictive environment, as a prophylactic or safety measure by the court and the warden. i think it s important there s no reason to believe he needs to be on suicid
deliberating 21 hours. and this was the reaction outside the courthouse. [ applause ] sandusky was placed under arrest and booked into the county jail in bellfont, pennsylvania. he was placed in protective custody away from other inmates and is now on suicide watch. susan candiotti joins us with pennsylvania with reaction from the verdict. one of the jurors spoke out. what did he say? reporter: this one juror said they felt all the victims were credible because of the stories that they told about the abuse that they suffered and certainly all of them talking about very similar things over the course of many years. this juror spoke with nbc s today show. we looked at the inconsistencies and some of the testimony. we wanted to reconcile those and make sure that that was, you know wouldn t discredit the testimony. so we worked through those things systematically as a jury. we worked together very well. reporter: in fact, they worked out apparently any disagreemented th
