Fairfield, IA- The Jefferson County Sheriff's office has announced the arrest of a Kansas City man following a vehicle pursuit, and brief manhunt. According to a news release, at about 4 PM Wednesday, October 19th, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was notified of a high-speed pursuit entering the east side of Jefferson County of Highway 34, and the Iowa State Patrol and the US Marshalls requested assistance with the pursuit. Jefferson County deputies spotted the suspect vehicle near Lockridge and pursued it to the east side of Fairfield. The suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Sean Diontae Frost of Kansas City, Missouri, lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median and entered the opposite side of the highway before coming to a rest and fleeing into a wooded area on foot. Updated: 9:16 PM CST Feb 21, 2021 KMBC 9 News Staff Officials of the Clay County Public Health Center have updated their emergency order.Effective immediately, Clay County restaurants, bars, and taverns may resume permitted operating hours.No longer is there a limit on gathering size in the county, however, everyone at those gatherings must follow mask and social distancing guidelines. Mask should still be worn at all indoor spaces and outdoors when physical distancing can not be maintained.
