Friday was a night of nostalgia for Clay Central-Everly as the school hosted its first carnival since the middle school and high school were closed. With a fish fry meal and a variety of carnival games, CC-E families enjoyed the festivities together. The night capped out with some sweet fun as mayors of Rossi, Royal, Everly and Greenville volunteered to have students throw pie at them alongside some CC-E teachers. (Photos by Celia Brocker)
Fathers and daughters of Clay Central-Everly filled the Hap Ketelsen Center for a Daddy Daughter Dance on Sunday. With an under the sea theme, the dance was to raise funds for upcoming CC-E events and give back to local nonprofits. The girls had a good time teaching their father’s some of their favorite dance moves. More excitement arose when the dance received a special visitor from the little mermaid herself.

Royal, IA (KICD)– The Clay Central Everly School Board is working on some new moves to benefit the district about two years after eliminating classes beyond sixth grade because of insufficient enrollment.
Superintendent Kevin Wood tells KICD News they’re constantly assessing how many students they need to keep the K through 6th grade building feasible.
The CCE School board has now voted to add a preschool program, fearing kids who start preschool in neighboring towns won’t come back for kindergarten.
The bulk of middle school and high school students who live within the Clay Central Everly boundaries attend school in Spencer, with others going to Hartley Melvin Sanborn and Sioux Central.
