Nine bus shelters and 24 electrical boxes along Hartford’s Albany Avenue will be getting a new look.
Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin announced Thursday that 33 artists, most of whom live or grew up in the city’s North End, have been selected to show their artistic abilities and paint the bus shelters and electrical boxes,
The artwork, the mayor’s office said, will be printed and installed at the bus shelters later this month and each artist will receive $500 per design. Those artists will also be invited to a meet-and-greet reception at City Hall at a date to be determined.
Hartford is full of history, but unfortunately a lot of that history is disappearing. There are more than 50 historic districts in the capitol city containing.
