Le Mans-winning Jaguar C-Type resurrected for low-volume production

- shares Jaguar will resurrect its iconic C-Type sports car, however just eight examples are currently slated for production. The replicas – specified to match the 164kW 1953 Le Mans-winning variant – will be hand-built at Jaguar’s Classic Works facility in Coventry, and slot into the wider Classic Continuation range. Originally built between 1951 and 1953, the C-Type was designed by legendary aeronautical aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer. Powered by a 3.4-litre straight-six engine, the car was structurally supported by a lightweight tubular frame and wore an aluminium body. Notably, it was also one of the earliest automotive adopters of disc brakes, the longevity and reliability of which contributed to its success in endurance racing.
