according to the u.s. chamber of commerce, 27% of small business owners saying they re having trouble hiring because of obamacare. so you get these completely bizarre and unfathomable regulations and it s very hard for people in business to respond to any kind of a sensible or positive way. rick: we mentioned the republican plan which will probably not go anywhere because of partisan politics in washington. but if some of these regulations were to be rolled back, do we have any data or information that this would help the unemployment rate? would it get americans back to work if a lot of companies and businesses out there didn t have to deal with these burdensome regulations? i think there are a couple of things. one is the small business administration says that these regulations cost $10,000 per employee, per year. if you ve got ten employees and figure on saving $100,000, maybe you can afford to hire somebody. that s one thing. the other is the overall tone on washington on the
that s what they re hearing on college campuses, what the president is saying, class warfare rhetoric, whatever you want to call it. frankly, young people don t hear a conservative side of things. what we re trying to do is inspire conservatives who are on campus to reach out to their peers with a moral case for free enterprise that says hey, free markets do the most good for the most people and they can help your economic situation. i think it s actually interesting, a poll came out last week from a class that said 69% young people support tax cuts for young americans and young people open to hearing these ideas and guess what? they work for young people, too. exactly. one of the things you say is when kids are on campus, they just get one side because academics, for the most part, are very, very progressive towards the liberal side. whereas, you know, you look at the people who have been in the president s cabinet, they re academics. they re not people who have been out in the econ
who espouse what you just said, but they getting tired of the class warfare rhetoric, tired of president arguing as he has lately questioning entrepreneurs doing it on their own saying the infrastructure, saying it was the system if police this allowed them to da what they did and i argue, yes, that is a given. but, to then assume that all have the wherewithal and the parts to capitalize on that, besmirches them. guest: a good friend of mine, a banger when i started my company told me the definition of luck where opportunity and preparation merge. the reality is all of us will have, we are mens and most of us will have opportunities to across our paths and those who are successful see the tunes and act upon them. look, the government certainly creates an environment for us to be successful. neil: is that what he was trying to say? guest: i have not seen the speech if context but i think he was saying the government
