A new outdoor clothing retailer is opening in Clarks Village in Street this weekend.
Craghoppers, the outdoor clothing and protective adventure equipment retailer, is opening a new store, with a grand opening event on Saturday, April 24.
Outlet sales surge in reopening week
Outlet centre operators and retailers have reported a triple-digit increase in sales this week, as non-essential retail reopened across England and Wales.
Shoppers flocked to outlet centres and stores in favour of safe open spaces and discounted items, according to industry experts.
“Performance in our outlet centres has been really strong this week, the CEO of a high street multiple told Drapers. The big takeaway from the first few days of retail reopening is that outlet centres and high streets are performing particularly well, it has been a really positive start. Shoppers are attracted to fact that outlet shopping is typically located outside. We have found that makes a big difference for customers because it makes them feel safer.
CLARKS Village, at Street, is ready to re-open for non-essential retail next Monday (April 12) from 9am, with measures in place to help keep shoppers safe. Chris Davis, centre director at Clarks Village, said: “The entire team here at Clarks Village is looking forward to welcoming our brand partners and guests back. Following two very successful re-openings last year, where our guest feedback was extremely positive about the safety measures we had put in place and how happy they were to be back, the same care and attention has been put in place for this re-opening. The health and safety of everyone who visits our centre is our number one priority, as it has been throughout this crisis and we continue to follow the Government’s guidelines.
