Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 26) The rehabilitation of Ninoy Aquino International Airport has hit another dead end after airport authorities denied Megawide Construction Corporation’s formal appeal to regain its original proponent status for the project.
“The Consortium was formally informed of the said denial through a letter from the Corporate Secretary of the MIAA Board of Directors dated 25 January 2021,” the conglomerate, who has paired up with Indian firm GMR Infrastructure, told the local bourse in a disclosure Tuesday.
This is the latest setback in the rehabilitation of the country’s busiest gateway, with negotiations between the government and different conglomerates hitting a dead end throughout the years.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 21) Megawide Construction Corporation on Monday filed a formal appeal to reinstate its preferential status on the plan to rehabilitate the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
