Invitational Art Show Opening on May 22nd at The Meetinghouse in Ridgefield Written by Clarice Shirvell
The Meetinghouse announces the 2021 First Invitational Art Show on Saturday, May 22nd from noon- 4pm.
The First-floor gallery features seven local fine artists, Nicole Bricker, Leslie Carone, Priscilla Prentice, Clarice Shirvell, Marcia Simha, Dennis Stevens, Trish Wend, in an exhibit called, “A Season of Hope”, curated by Ridgebury artists Clarice Shirvell and Trish Wend the show includes local landscapes, sights, florals, and inspirational art.
With a post-pandemic future in sight, the Meetinghouse is re-opening its doors with a focus on The Arts, Farm and Food, and Holistic Wellness. On Saturday in addition to the Artists’ Reception, there is a second-floor gallery featuring the work of artist Polly Castor. Tours of the Meetinghouse’s Studios will be open to the public featuring artist in residence, Clarice Shirvell, as well as viewing of additional studio

Many in this community will remember the annual Arts fair held by the Ridgebury Congregational Church, home to Ridgebury’s historic Meetinghouse. With a post-pandemic future in sight, the Meetinghouse is re-opening with a focus on the arts, farm & food, and holistic wellness.
Established in 1760 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, The Meetinghouse has played a key role in our nation’s history. More than that, The Meetinghouse has served as a gathering place for the Ridgebury community.
First to open is the Visual Arts portion with a non-profit two floor art gallery and residency. The first floor will host an art opening,
