Photograph of staff outside the Hawne Co-op branch (c. late 1940s). Do you know any of these faces? TTHE Black Country Museum is appealing for anyone who remembers these people outside Hawne Co-op in the 1940s as it prepares to rebuild the shop. A re-creation of the Co-op s Hawne branch, which opened in 1930 on Stourbridge Road, will be built at the Black Country Living Museum as part of its Forging Ahead development. The Hawne Co-op was part of the Halesowen and Hasbury Society, which was formed in 1871 when the Co-op opened its first shop in Halesowen - the Halesowen and Hasbury Industrial Co-operative Society, in Peckingham Street.
