Clare TD was among targets of Harris trolling May 16, 2021 Sinn Fein deputy was subjected to scathing Twitter attack IT HAS emerged that an anonymous Twitter account, which led to the termination of the contract of Sunday Independent columnist Eoghan Harris, targeted Clare Sinn Féin TD Violet Ann Wynne. Last week, editor Alan English took the decision to terminate Mr Harris’s contract after he admitted to being involved in the Barbara J Pym account, which has since been permanently suspended for violating Twitter’s rules on platform manipulation and spam. The account tweeted Deputy Wynne last March after the Tánaiste’s erroneous assertion that there were no protestants in Sinn Féin.

Clare TD Calls For Transparency On Targets As Vaccination Programme Progresses

Violet-Anne Wynne has acknowledged that the easing of restrictions will be dependent on the success of the vaccination programme and says reassurances are now needed to ensure targets can be met. CONTINUE READING BELOW It comes as a Minister of State at the Deparment of Finance has reassured the people of Clare that the country remains on track to give most people their first vaccine by June. The online portal and phone line for registration for vaccines has opened for the first time today, with the HSE asking people to register on specific days based on their age to manage demand.

Cabinet Meeting To Sign Off On New Living With COVID Plan

Clare FM 23rd February 2021 Cabinet are meeting this afternoon to sign off on the Living with Covid Plan. Level 5 restrictions will be extended until at least April 5th, with construction remaining shut for another month. Clare’s Sinn Fein TD say clarity would be welcome, but has criticised the Government over ongoing leaks ahead of annoucnements. CONTINUE READING BELOW Last night the cabinet sub-committee on COVID agreed to extend Level 5 restrictions until at least April 5th, when there will be a review. The only changes will be the re-opening of schools and childcare. Leaving Cert students, and primary students up to 2nd class will return to the classroom next Monday, March 1st, while 5th years and the remainder of primary students will be back on March 15th.
