The Clare Lake / McMahon Park committee in Claremorris say they have become aware of young adults skating on the ice in Clare Lake during the present cold spell.
PRO for the committee Austin Garvin told Midwest News today that this is a highly irresponsible and a dangerous practice.
He is appealing to all parents and guardians to be extra vigilant of their children during this cold spell.
In the interests of safety, if the skating practice persists, The Clare lake / McMahon Park committee will have no choice, he says, but to close the Park, which would be very disappointing for its regular users, and it hoped that this action can be avoided.
