LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- Local democratic lawmakers are pushing for the expansion of Badgercare in the state.
State Senator Brad Pfaff and State Representatives to Jill Billings and Steve Doyle talked about the benefits Monday during a press conference.
Governor Tony Evers called a special session for Tuesday to take up a bill that would use nearly a billion dollars in federal stimulus money tied to expanding Medicaid on dozens of projects across the state.
The expansion of BaderCare would cover an additional 91,000 people.
