Funding boost for historic theatre to be more eco-friendly

Richmond’s Georgian Theatre Royal THE UK s oldest working theatre in its original form has received a £20,000 grant to help it become more environmentally sustainable. Richmond’s Georgian Theatre Royal was given the funding through an initiative by Theatres Trust, in partnership with the Wolfson Foundation, whereby £100,000 has been awarded to five venues across the country through its Theatre Improvement Scheme. The Georgian Theatre Royal will use its share of the funding to replace old boilers and install a new Building Management System that will improve both the effectiveness and efficiency of the ventilation and heating in the Grade I Listed building.
