U.S. Hall of Fame trainer Ron Burke will be heading east to Massachusetts on Sunday, July 23 with members of the Burke Brigade who will start in the $250,000 Spirit of Massachusetts Trot and $100,000 Clara Barton Distaff Pace as the Grand Circuit makes its third stop of the year at Plainridge Park.
Owners and trainers of horses entering the Spirit of Massachusetts Trot or Clara Barton Distaff Pace scheduled for Sunday, July 23 at Plainridge Park should note that the draw for those stakes will take place on Tuesday, July 18 and declarations must be made prior to 9 a.m. that morning.
The racing strip at Plainridge Park was on fire Thursday afternoon (June 1) as the top three events all yielded sub-1:50 miles. The fastest time was turned in by DP Realordeal, who became only the third horse to ever pace under 1:49 in the 24-year history of Plainridge Park.
