A PRESTONPANS woman who struck a glass door with a hammer has been told to pay compensation to East Lothian Council. Claire Yorkston hit the glass panels within the door with the tool at an address at the town’s Longdykes Road. Yorkston, of Rollo Court, returned to Edinburgh Sheriff Court for sentencing after previously pleading guilty. The 32-year-old was ordered to pay the local authority £150 in compensation to cover the cost of replacing the glass panels. Yorkston admitted the offence, which took place on March 27, and she was also admonished on a second charge of possessing an offensive weapon, namely the hammer.
