So far, only key workers and students have been able to use the facility at Aberdeen University s Butchart Centre on University Road. But as of tomorrow (Monday March 8) anyone in the city can book an appointment using the online portal here. Health experts believe about one in three people with Covid-19 do not show any symptoms and may spread the virus without realising. Jillian Evans, NHS Grampian s head of health intelligence, said: Community testing is voluntary but we hope that providing easy access to tests for any member of the public as well as key workers without symptoms, will encourage people to come forward.

Seven men arrested after drugs worth nearly £40k seized in Aberdeen Seven men have been charged after police recovered nearly £40,000 worth of class A drugs in Aberdeen. Officers raided properties on Richmond Terrace and Balnagask Avenue yesterday, while several vehicles were searched in the city centre and other areas. Heroin and cocaine were seized - with estimated street values of £32,000 and £7,000 respectively. The males, aged 17, 21, 24, 26, 39, 42 and 45, are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday March 8 and Thursday April 1. Detective Inspector Sam Buchan from north-east CID said: These seizures again demonstrate our ongoing commitment to tackling the illegal supply of drugs in our communities and arresting those criminals responsible.

Asymptomatic coronavirus testing centre opens in Peterhead A new asymptomatic coronavirus testing centre has opened in Peterhead. The facility will run for the next 12 weeks - and offers a drop-in service for anyone who wants to get checked for the virus, but does not have any symptoms. It is operating out of Rescue Hall on Prince Street from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, with the last admission at 7.45pm. Anyone who lives, works or studies in the town can access the site, with results provided on the day. A statement from Aberdeenshire Council said: It is estimated that one in three people with coronavirus do not display symptoms and therefore some individuals will be spreading the virus without realising it.
