Trans people are facing a waiting-list armageddon to get help from specialist clinics and it has already cost lives with many folk left in despair by the NHS, research has suggested
THE School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) supported Claire Prosho through its Thurrock Social Entrepreneurship programme in 2019 which helps budding social entrepreneurs in Thurrock turn their idea into a reality. Claire set up Claire’s Transgender Talks which offers workshops to businesses and individuals exploring transgender and nonbinary identities, issues and discrimination. Its aim is to debunk common misconceptions and help people become more confident in interacting with the community.
About the support of SSE, Claire says: “Networking and talking to people has been a serious weak point for me. But between the course and mentoring components it’s given me the ability and confidence to do this.” Claire has become truly integrated into SSE, having returned to speak about her experiences with applicants for the next cohort.
