Gobert-led defense too tough for Portland s shooters
The Jazz swept the first two meetings this year by an average margin of 19.5 points. They outrebounded the Trail Blazers by 19 in the season opener in Portland on Dec. 23 and by 17 in Salt Lake City on April 8.
Utah center Rudy Gobert dominated both games, tallying 20 points and 17 rebounds in the first game and 18 points and 20 boards in the second. The two-time All-Star and two-time Defensive Player of the Year leads the NBA in field-goal percentage (.675) and blocked shots (2.7).
The Jazz only had a combined seven steals and six blocks in the first two meetings, but their outstanding defensive efforts limited Damian Lillard to a combined 36.4 percent shooting (12 of 33), CJ McCollum to 37.5 percent (15 of 40) and Carmelo Anthony to 35.0 percent (7 of 20). Portland s most effective shooter was backup big man Enes Kanter (10 of 11).

Jokic has averaged 26.4 points per game this season, and 27.6 over his past seven with 10.9 rebounds when the Nuggets have gone 6-1. He also has at least 30 points in each of his past three games and four of his past five.
