BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – A set of siblings is serving up a family affair.
“It just makes more sense just to do it with the family because we’re doing this for the family,” said Cjay Jones.
Cjay Jones and his sisters, Barbara Mays and Angela Jones, opened their pair of unlikely businesses under one roof.
They opened the hair supply shop in November, then opened the restaurant last month.
Barbara and Angela said they’re proud to bring their black-owned businesses to Bedford County. They wanted to see their grandmothers’ vision come to fruition.
BEDFORD â A group of siblings have opened an unlikely pair of businesses under the same roof in the town of Bedford.
With Cjay Jonesâ passion for cooking and Barbara Maysâ passion for hair styling, the siblings launched Sooul Food Restaurant as well as Hair Wear Beauty Supply, off U.S. 460 at 1057 Hull Street behind Little Caesarâs.
Home-cooked comfort food is offered as carry-out in one half of the building, and hair accessories are sold in the other half.
âIt was all my brotherâs vision,â Mays said of Jones. âThis all came about when he saw this spot and he said, âWhat do you think about a business opportunity?â So we brought our two passions together.â
