The Iowa State Auditor s office released a report Wednesday after finding a former administrative assistant at Iowa s Civil Commitment Unit for Sexual Offenders, a treatment facility for sexually violent predators, allegedly embezzled more than $60,000 from the state by clocking in her husband, who also worked for the group, for thousands of hours of time worked when he wasn t actually there.
Ranae Rapp and her husband, Adam Rapp, were both employed at the CCUSO, which is a division of the state s Department of Human Services Mental Health and Disability Services, according to the report. Adam Rapp, a former psychiatric security specialist, had worked full-time for the CCUSO since 2012 before switching to a temporary position in 2019.
