Civic Theater Guild to live-steam Wonderful Life – Sheridan Media

With a nod to the unique circumstances of the 2020 holiday season, Sheridan’s Civic Theater Guild will present “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” as a live-stream presentation this weekend. The classic Christmas story about a guardian angel who shows a man how much his family and friends need him will be brought to life as a 1940s radio broadcast from the Mars Black Box at the WYO Theater. Performances will be streamed at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 2 p.m. Monday. Jami Lance, who’s Civic Theater Guild president and production co-director, said the guild wanted to offer its usual dose of holiday cheer while keeping the audience, actors and volunteers as safe as possible. Lance said the decision was that a live-streamed, old-timey radio play would be the best of both worlds.
