continues. one of the incidents took place mid afternoon saturday a at a station in brooklyn. a 20-year-old woman and man got in an argument. the suspect allegedly stabbed the woman multiple times. police are looking for that suspect. the victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. according to reports from the new york post there have been at least 27 subway slashings this year. a 35% increase compared to a year ago. eric adams who took office in january in an effort to reduce crime is cracking down on homelessness in the subway. police and mental health experts will be removing the more than 1,000 people who essentially live in the subway system. the subway plan is a comprehensive, civic strategy that will do more than deal with a temporary fix. you can t put a band-aid on a cancerous sore. not everyone thinks the mayor s plan is a good idea.
