(WBEN) - Roads in the City of Buffalo are destined for improvement after a more than $16 million investment from the state, Senator Tim Kennedy announced Friday alongside city officials. The investment represents a 185% increase in funding compared to last year s budget allocation. In Buffalo: State Senator Tim Kennedy, Mayor Byron Brown, and DPW Commissioner Mike Finn are announcing $16.1 million for road repairs this year. Historic Investments In New York’s Education Systems The State Budget takes transformational steps to increase state and federal resources to ensure that all of New York’s students receive the high quality education they deserve and that all teachers are adequately supported. The 2021-2022 State Budget:  Provides a $1.4 billion increase in Foundation Aid and a three-year Foundation Aid phase-in that will finally fulfill a promise made in 2007 to fully fund our public schools Provides a $105 million expansion of full-day prekindergarten, providing pre-K funding to 210 districts who don’t currently receive state-funded full-day Pre-K.  Ensures that additional Federal Aid will supplement, and not supplant State funding.
