PA House of Representatives
Days after entering Pittsburgh’s mayoral race, state Representative Ed Gainey is rolling out his first endorsement. Activist group One PA says it will back him over two-term incumbent Bill Peduto.
“One PA is proud to endorse Rep. Gainey, a proven public servant who leads with humility and strength,” said Angel Gober, the organization’s Western PA Director, in a statement. “We need a Mayor whose head and heart are with the hardworking people of Pittsburgh, and not with Executives looking down on us from the tops of the towers downtown.”
The group will hold a virtual press conference with Gainey later today.
PITTSBURGH – An Alabama couple claim a Western Pennsylvania service station negligently closed a garage door on the head of the wife-plaintiff, causing her to suffer both a traumatic brain injury and others.
Carol Adams and Richard Adams of Tuscaloosa, Ala. filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on Jan. 4 versus Preston Motors, Inc., of New Castle.
“On or about Jan. 7, 2019, at or around 11 a.m., plaintiff arrived at defendant’s service station in New Castle, Pennsylvania, for assistance with the tires of her vehicle, which she leases from defendant,” the suit says.
“After plaintiff informed an employee of defendant that she needed air in her tires, he advised her to relocate her vehicle to the other side of the building to perform the service. As plaintiff was exiting the garage to relocate her vehicle, an employee of defendant began closing the garage door, which struck plaintiff in her head and caused her to fall backwards.”
PITTSBURGH – A Pittsburgh man who suffered a broken arm and leg injuries at a local Ace Hardware store when he fell on an unevenly positioned mat near its entrance doors in 2019, argues that the store’s answer to his suit is insufficient.
Paul Capenos of Pittsburgh first filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on Sept. 22 versus Greentree Hardware & Electric, Inc. and Charles A. Bickel (both doing business as “Ace Fix-It Hardware”), also of Pittsburgh.
(A Nov. 25 court order amended the defendants’ list in dismissing Greentree Hardware & Electric, Inc. and Bickel without prejudice, and replacing them with Ace Fix-It Hardware of Duncansville, Inc., doing business as “Ace Fix-It Hardware.)”
