stuffy head, best sleep with a cold, medicine. today is national coming out day, and in the comic book city of metropolis, superman is coming out as bisexual. that s right. the new superman, his name is john kent, a child of clark kent and lois lane, he has fallen for another male character this the dc comics. let s be real. coming out gives all of us in the lgbtq community our own superpower, the power to be ourselves. so president biden commemorated the day by saying this today and every day, i want every member of the lgbtq community to know you are loved. he added that the country has a lot of work do to achieve equality for all americans. coming out is very personal.

(KFVS) - A Superman-themed splash park will open near the City of Metropolis swimming pool. Parks and Recreation Director Pris Abell said they hope to have the splash park open in time for the summer swim season. It includes a new splash pad, pump house for the splash park pump system and resurfacing the pool. Because of the Superman them, the splash park will have Kryptonite water sprayers, a Daily Planet Globe water bucket drop, an interactive city skyline water sprayer that makes sounds and a Superman “Welcome to Metropolis” sign.

New grant will give city the ability to help our businesses

When the opportunity came to apply for reimbursement of funds related to COVID-19, many businesses were almost automatically rejected. During Monday’s Metropolis City Council meeting, corporate counsel Rick Abell said local assistance is now available and many businesses have already submitted their applications. The application for the City of Metropolis Economic Support Grant is available on the City of Metropolis, Metropolis Chamber of Commerce and Metropolis Tourism websites and Mayor Billy McDaniel’s Facebook page. Applications will be approved on a first come, first serve basis. For qualifying businesses in the City of Metropolis, the grant provides reimbursement toward expenses incurred because of the pandemic. These expenses can include rent; mortgage; utilities; winterization projects for outdoor operations; PPE and interior changes, such as new protective barriers, and have to have been incurred from March 1 through Dec. 30, 2020.
