Journalist and broadcaster Gary Younge is joined by family and friends of novelist Andrea Levy to celebrate her life and work. Expect personal stories, along with readings from her work, including never before published extracts, for an intimate portrait of the prize-winning writer. This event, part of the Leeds Lit Festival, marks the Library’s acquisition of Andrea Levy’s archive and also her birthday.
Melanie Abrahams Hon FRSL FRSA is a literature curator and producer, visiting lecturer and mentor. She consistently pushes for greater diversity in the arts, with a focus on narratives of race, class and social background and mixed-race identities. Melanie is the Creative Director of Renaissance One and Tilt which champion the literature and spoken word artforms through projects, education and tours.
