On the 51st anniversary of Earth Day, the Mojave River Watershed Group will host a virtual “Watershed Lab” that focuses on protecting the region’s water supply from stormwater pollution.
Open to all ages, the Facebook Live event is scheduled for noon Thursday and will be a hands-on experience, with participants creating a homemade watershed model, according to Stormwater Trooper Marty Martinez, spokesman for the MRWG.
The watershed is typically located above ground and includes waterways that drain down toward the underground aquifer, which stores drinking water, Martinez, 26, told the Daily Press.
