Hancock Finnish Theme Committee
HANCOCK The City of Hancock’s Finnish Theme Committee pondered every possibility, but after months of thoughtful planning and consideration, the group decided that it couldn’t conduct the annual Heikinpäivä celebration in a manner that would provide a fulfilling cultural experience and maintain public heath safety.
While the possibility of Finnish American Folk School classes during January 2021 remains, the Heikinpäivä festival will take a one-year hiatus.
The Committee remains optimistic that the programming festival-goers have come to expect and enjoy each winter will be able to take place in full during January 2022.
