Laredo City Council on Monday voted to take on several initiatives in COVID-19 vaccinations, including prioritizing qualifying employees of schools, reaching out to the elderly and people without internet and considering the implementation of a waiting list.
And on Tuesday evening, the city announced that it had received 5,000 additional first doses of the vaccine from the state. The city will open its appointment system Wednesday at 1 p.m. only for those who are age 65 and older. The public can make an appointment online at vaccinatelaredo.com or by calling 3-1-1.
