Illinois American Water Celebrates Earth Day by Awarding Over $29,000 in Environmental Grants for Water Source Protection

Illinois American Water is awarding eight environmental grants focused on watershed initiatives across the state. The environmental grant recipients will receive a share of funds totaling $29,860 for community projects that improve, restore or protect watersheds.
According to Justin Ladner, Illinois American Water President, including the 2021 commitment more than $276,000 in environmental grants will have been contributed to 82 projects since 2009. He said,

BELLEVILLE A woman claims she suffered injuries when loose shelving fell on her at a Target store in Belleville.
Roxanne Royce filed a complaint Feb. 17 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Target Corporation, alleging negligence.
Royce was shopping at a Target on Belleville Crossing Street in Belleville on Nov. 23, 2019, according to her complaint. She alleges that as she reached for at toy on one of the shelves, the shelf and its contents fell and struck her.
Royce claims she suffered injuries to her hand and finger and required medical treatment. She also claims she suffered pain, anxiety of body and mind, as well as emotional injuries.

BENTON – U.S. Magistrate Judge Reona Daly gave the estate of Washington Park auxiliary policeman Ricardo Davis 30 days to connect his death to a repair job on Poplar Street Bridge where he fell.
Daly dismissed the estate’s complaint against KCI Construction, D and K Welding, and Thomas Industrial Coatings on Jan. 19, without prejudice.
She found the bare allegations failed to satisfy the requirement of proximate cause necessary to sustain the claims. She set a Feb. 18 deadline for amendment.
