Five hundred additional vials of Tocilizumab, an experimental drug used to treat COVID-19, purchased by the city government of Manila have been delivered to the city on Tuesday.

Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said he wants to help as many people as possible in the fight against COVID-19. He and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan inspected the additional vials of Tocilizumab that were delivered on Tuesday.

CALOOCAN CITY, May 12 (PIA) The Manila City Government, through its Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW), is almost done distributing the financial aid or ayuda to its constituents courtesy of the National Government.
MDSW Director Re Fugoso said that it has finished distributing financial assistance to 99 percent of its total beneficiaries as of Sunday, May 9, or 33 days since the start of its operation last April 6.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang pagkilos ng ating social workers, daycare workers, at iba pang kawani ng MDSW upang matiyak na makukuha ng mga Batang Maynila ang kanilang benepisyo mula sa national government,” Fugoso said while noting that about 377,010 families have already received its financial assistance.

More than 8,000 Manila city government workers will receive their mid-year bonus beginning May 18.
Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has signed the release of P350 million from the city’s 2021 executive budget for the mid-year bonus of the city government’s 8,745 regular employees.
All regular employees are set to receive their mid-year bonus through their payroll accounts beginning May 18.
Domagoso said the mid-year bonus for the city government’s regular employees will still be enforced even if the country is under a state of public health emergency.
“Para po maibsan ang hirap na tatahakin ng ating mga manggagawa sa pamahalaang lungsod dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic (To ease the hardship that our workers in the city government will face due to the COVID-19 pandemic),” Domagoso said.
